The adventure begins......
This is the start of a page to track our Wyoming elk hunt. Jackie, Terry, Dwight and I have plans to leave October 10 for a hunting adventure just west of Buffalo, Wyoming. The plan is to drive a couple of days with four mules and an ATV in tow. Then pack the mules and the ATV with what we need to set up a camp in the area 36 wilderness. Scout for a couple of days, shoot four elk cows, pack them out to a processor and then ride the mules in the wilderness for a couple of days and just enjoy God’s creation (that’s the plan and we’re sticking to it).

These are some pictures of my friend and transportation for about ten days. His name is Henry. He not only caries my 220 lbs, but also will go anywhere I ask him to and carry all of my junk. Henry is also a good listener (you can tell by the big ears).
After driving for 22 straight hours, except for meal and potty breaks, we have finally arrived in Sidney Nebraska. We should be within 6 hours of Buffalo for the final leg of the drive. We picked Sidney, because it is the World Headquarters for Cabalas and they have ‘turn out’ pens for the mules. Also, we get to do some ‘manly’ shopping.
Terry and Jackie at the Cabela's turn out pens. Notice cowboy Jackie in the triditional cowboy atire, shorts, tennis shoes and cowboy hat.
Terry and Dwight packing in. We drove another 7 hours to buffalo, then packed in most of our gear. Today was really a rough day. We packed up everything and road for two hours into the camp site. Dwight had a small problem with Jen when we first started out. I'm not certain what happened, but Henry bucked with me once. I had just let him have a drink in a stream and then he acted ugly. So, I'll not be nice to him again.

Jackie and his mule. Actually, we used Jackie's mule (Joy) as a pack mule, to get all of our junk into the camp.

We packed most of our gear in today, but will stay at a hotel in Buffalo tonight and pack the rest in tomorrow. The camp is about a two hour mule ride.

This is on our way in with our gear. Terry, Jenny and Joy.

Most of my pictures are taken from Henry (my mule), so they aren't that good. You really can't tell from the picture, but the scenry is beautiful.

This will likely be the last update for a few days. I may be able to put in some additional pictures on Sunday, when we come out for chruch.
